Get Ready For A Playful Q&A With Some of Our Team Members That Help Make Fetch! Shine!

We’ve got a little treat for you – a special edition Fetch! newsletter, where we’ve had the “purr-ivilege” of sitting down with some of our “paw-some” team members for an exclusive Q&A! Prepare to be whisked away on a journey filled with heartwarming anecdotes, valuable insights, and a glimpse into the inner workings of our fur-tastic Fetch! family.

Q: Can you share a heartwarming or funny pet-sitting experience that left a lasting paw-print on your heart?

A: When we first started visiting Olive, a small black female, young adult cat, she was just newly adopted. She had been through two previous adoptions and returned after each one. She was pretty reclusive and untrusting when she got to her third home. The couple that adopted her was not sure that it would work, but they said they would give it a try. Little by little, Olive started coming out of her shell. The first time I met her, she was somewhere in the house, but I could not see or hear her. I knew she was about because her food dish was always empty, and she’d been using her litter box. So, working with the other care team members on Oliv’es account, we agreed to take care of housekeeping things first and then sit quietly with a toy and talk to her even though we weren’t sure she was listening. But apparently, she was, and she began to come out for us a little bit at a time. As the sightings became more frequent, they also became longer. Sometimes, we would see her sitting on the table waiting to be noticed. Other times, we would hear a little jingle ball rolling around and knew she was ready to play. We all agreed how rewarding it has been to get to know her. When we visit, we can hear her collar bell ring and a tiny, sweet meow asking for pets when we come in the front door. She leads us to her food dish first thing and then back to the kitchen or living room to play! We knew she was a sweet girl, just waiting to be discovered. I’m so glad this couple took a chance on her and gave her a fresh start. We think she’s terrific! -Patti

Q: What sets Fetch! apart from other pet care services in the area?

A: All of our pet sitters are background-checked, trained by management, and have experience caring for pets of all kinds! We also have an excellent support system in place and a close-knit team. We share tips, tricks, and information about caring for our fur-iends. We always take the time to ask our clients about the quirks and habits of each pet, and we love communicating with them through the app and journals. We also provide more than a walk/visit to our furry friends! We have different types of services that are tailored to suit different pet needs, and every team member loves and cares for each pet as if they were their own! -Irina

Q: What secret ingredient makes Fetch! Sitters pros at pet care?

A: First, Fetch! is committed to ensuring the highest level of training for new team members. Before I embarked on my first service, I underwent a training process that ultimately made me “Fetch! Certified”. This journey included thorough training sessions, hands-on experience by shadowing a Lead Pet Experience Provider, and even an opportunity to personally perform a service for one of our owner’s furry companions! Also, paying great attention to detail is another reason I’m a pro at pet care, and it’s important for a few reasons. First, I like my journals to be as descriptive as possible so that I can narrate a story to pet parents. I put myself in their shoes and think of what I would love to know about my pets while I’m away. It also comforts them to know in detail about their pets and helps build trust with clients! Secondly, paying attention to details allows me to check off items on my to-do list and helps me become aware of anything that might not be normal for the pet or service. Additionally, I grew up with different kinds of pets, studied biology, and currently work with animals, so I feel comfortable handling all sorts of pets! -Mercedes

Q: What’s the most heartwarming pet story you’ve experienced while working with Fetch?

A: The most heartwarming pet stories I’ve experienced while working with Fetch! are:
1.) When I got to do a pet taxi and bring a dog to be a doggy ring-bearer at her mom and dad’s wedding!
2.) When the pugs I worked with had a surprise puppy! Now he belongs to our Client Relations Manager, the fabulous Jennifer! We still get to watch him grow up.
3.) Working with rescue dogs is one of my favorite parts. It takes a while for dogs with a hard past to warm up, but it is so rewarding to befriend them over time and see how special they are! -Paisley

Q: Any funny or quirky pet habits that always bring a smile to your face?
A: I adore pups who roll in the grass or chase their tails and kitties who will roll over for the elusive belly rubs once they trust me! -Irina

Q: What secret ingredient makes you a pro at pet care?

A: Mostly love and treats when I can! -Lily

Q: What’s the most heartwarming pet story you’ve experienced while working with Fetch!?

A: Recently, I had to walk a couple of pups together. I was told that one of them got very anxious with traffic, other dogs, and new people (that being me), so I was a bit nervous myself when the day came. With the help of other sitters’ notes and advice, it happened to be one of the most pleasant walks ever. Once we got back from the walk, the pup thanked me with the sweetest kiss on the cheek! -Mercedes

Aren’t our pet sitters just paw-sitively amazing? We hope you enjoyed getting to know them a little better while discovering why Fetch! is truly special. Until our next tail-wagging adventure together…

A big thank you to all these team members for sharing their invaluable perspectives. Their insights share valuable insight in our commitment to making a paw-sitive impact on your pets’ lives and helping us #MakeFetchHappen everyday!
